Feeling Groovy

Description:
Feeling Groovy won the First Place Ribbon in Art / Pictorial catagory at MQX 2009.
Feeling Groovy

Feeling Groovy won the First Place Ribbon in Art / Pictorial catagory at MQX 2009.  It was done entirely with CompuQuilter by Canace West!  She used some of her own original designs and the outline feature to create this work of art.  Congradulations Candace!  She also noted that it will be on display at MQS 2009 as well.

A few facts about the quilt;
1. The quilting in the flower petals and the swirly designs that are encrusted with crystals are my original designs.  I used the Boundary feature of CQ to accurately place the designs.
2.  All of the cross hatching and SID was done with the Outline feature on CQ.
3.  The quilt measures 105" wide and 49" long.
4.  The flower centers are handmade covered buttons.  The fabric was first embroidered, then used to cover the buttons and crystals were applied last.  There are covered buttons that blend with the backing fabric on the back to secure the buttons in place.

Who are we?

Hi folks.  I spend most of my life beta testing software and writing the manuals so I rarely have time to make a quilt.  But that's what I'm doing this week.  While doing that, my mind began to wander.  I know, some of you thought I didn't have a mind or that I had lost it.
